2016 Honda Civic Coupe, Hatchback and Sedan Rendered
The 2016 Honda Civic will be on sale this fall, but no one knows exactly what it will look like yet.
New renderings, posted on 10th Civic Forum, show off a slightly toned down version of the hardcore looking concept that was shown recently at the New York Auto Show.
When the new Civic arrives, it will offer a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine in base models while higher trims will be available with a new 1.5-liter turbocharged VTEC engine. Transmission options will be a six-speed manual or a CVT, while Honda says the new Civic should handle better than its predecessor thanks to a loss of weight.

Honda has also confirmed that there will be a new Civic Type R model sold in the U.S., although it may not arrive until 2017 as a 2018 model. A hatchback version of the Civic will also be returning to North America with the 10th-generation car.
American Honda Motor Co. Executive Vice President John Mendel told us in a recent interview that the new Civic is an attempt to get back to the car’s sporty roots. “I just read the articles in magazines you guys write that say we’ve lost our way; we’ve lost our sportiness,” Mendel said. Honda is “taking the Civic back in a direction more towards where it started,” he said.

I hope it comes with a nice fat rear sway bar. In the release presentation at the NYC auto show or wherever it was, the video right before revealing the car had the wrong years displayed for the 5th and 6th generation car years. Maybe the 7th as well.
1.5 liter? What the hell Honda? Make it with 2.0 DOHC VTEC and 180HP witht the SI being 220 and Type-R with SH-AWD with 335.
